Michael Gibson

Michael Gibson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at Kansas State University, teaching design studio, environmental systems, and advanced building science seminars. Michael earned his Master of Architecture from Harvard University and has professional experience in architectural offices in Boston and Baltimore. Michael’s research broadly addresses sustainability and energy issues in buildings and has involved experimentation with full-scale prototypes, innovative envelope systems, computer simulation, and collaboration with industry and practice. A licensed architect in Kansas, Michael was also past president of the Topeka Section of the American Institute of Architects. His work has been recognized nationally and internationally through a 2008 American Institute of Architects RFP Research Award and a 2013 NCARB Award for the Integration of Practice and Education.
